My experience at Crazy 88 has been wonderful! A few months ago I was feeling un-motivated to go to the gym. I was bored with my routine of cardio and lifting, and I felt like I was slowly losing my physical drive. Crazy 88 has helped me shake those feelings and train harder!

From day one everyone on the Crazy 88 team has made me feel like there is a place for me at the gym! Classes can be intimidating to a beginner, but instructors and classmates take the time to help me better understand the fundamentals of BJJ and Muay Thai.

The most exciting yet challenging part of training is that there is always something new to learn; this helps keep me on my toes! Thus far I have learned that, for me, training with others is the most motivating environment! My goal now is to continue to train and learn the fundamentals and hopefully once I am comfortable get into a competition!

Thank you!

It Amazes Me To Now See Julius Creating So Many Great Competitors And Passing On The Knowledge That He Has.

Me and Julius go back along time. I met him at a tournament back in 99. I remember that he beat the #1 guy in his weight class and right away I knew that this kid was special.

We’ve been training together for many years and I have had the pleasure of seeing Julius grow into a great fighter and coach. It amazes me to now see Julius creating so many great competitors and passing on the knowledge that he has. I always tell my students to go to his academy and try to learn as much as they can from him.

I’ve been to the very best academies and fight gyms in the world, from Pat Miletich’s gym in Iowa to Brazilian Top Team in Brazil to the Gracie Academy in California, and I know quality instruction when I see it. Julius has made my BJJ game better by leaps and bounds and he can do the same for yours!

Danny Ives is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt and runs a Team Lloyd Irvin gym in Severna Park, MD.

All You Need To Show In Return Is Heart And Discipline.

I believe some people are just born with the ability to read other people, know what makes them tick, and coach them to their full potential. That’s why I trust Julius Park! I know that he has taken the time to figure me out as a competitor and others as well. His approach to train each of us is unique because we are all unique fighters. He will do the same for you.

He is a competitor himself, a great one, and he knows what it takes to compete at the highest level and he will share this with you. All you need to show in return is heart and discipline. Why did I win Pan Ams? Maybe for a couple of reasons, but you can bet your life on the fact that he was coaching me from the sides, telling me opponents were tougher than they were because he knew that as an individual I perform better that way. A great coach, great competitor, a great friend.

Roberto Torralbas trained in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and currently runs a Team Lloyd Irvin school in Naples, FL.

Its a true family affair for the Filler clan as they all train at Crazy 88 BJJ. It all started with their son, Seth, who was one of the first children enrolled in the program and has grown into one Crazy 88′s best competitors. In 2010, Seth and family flew to Los Angeles to participate in the first Brazilian Jujitsu Children’s Pan Am tournament. Seth is also a successful athlete in other sports such football and baseball.

After enrolling his son, father Chip began his MMA training and is a regular at the school despite a rigorous occupational travel schedule. Chip participates in the entire spectrum of realistic martial arts, learning to throw elbows and knees in the Thai Boxing class and then putting the gi on for some traditional Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Mother, Amanda, and daughter, Vanessa, joined later, getting involved in the Kids program and the Muay Thai classes. Vanessa has been improving at a remarkable pace and just began competing this year in grappling tournaments. Mother Amanda was a regular in our Muay Thai classes and BJJ and recently began helping out with the Kids program as an assistant!

Crazy 88 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a 6000 sq. ft. Martial Arts facility located conveniently between Baltimore and Columbia Maryland. We specialize in teaching:

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) – Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a martial art, combat sport and a form of self-defense that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. It promotes the principle that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend themself against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique — most notably by applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat the other person. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu can be trained for sport grappling tournaments (gi and no-gi) and mixed martial arts (MMA) competition or self-defense. More Information about our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Classes in the Baltimore Area

Muay Thai Kickboxing – Developed in Thailand, the art of Muay Thai aka “Thai Boxing” is the National Sport of Thailand and has already gained popularity and recognition in the US and internationally. There are five major components to Thai Boxing: (1) Punches, (2) Kicks, (3) Knees, (4) Elbows, and (5) Clinching. Students interested in concentrating on full contact stand-up techniques and looking to get in the best shape of their life should look no further than our highly effective Thai Kickboxing program. More information about our Muay Thai Kickboxing Classes in the Baltimore Area

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) – Mixed Martial Arts is one of the fastest growing sports in the America. It is a combination of a variety of martial arts and allows fighters to use both striking and grappling techniques. It is sometimes referred to as “Ultimate Fighting” after the biggest MMA promotion in the World, the Ultimate Fighting Championship. More information about our Mixed Martial Arts Classes in the Baltimore Area

Womens Only Program – Our Womens Only Program offers training in both Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai Kickboxing – the perfect combination for self-defense and fitness. Women in these classes learn the same techniques that professional MMA fighters are using and in a friendly environment. More information about our Womens Only Martial Arts Classes in the Baltimore Area.

Childrens Martial Arts – Our Kids Program follows a true Mixed Martial Arts curriculum composed of Thai Boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo, and Wrestling. However, the training is not limited to simply improving your child’s physical abilities and teaching her how to defend herself – it is an educational / Black Belt program that will give your child the life skills necessary to succeed (discipline, goal-setting, leadership). More information about our Childrens Martial Arts Classes

Ben comes from a background in traditional martial arts and was looking for something different when he enrolled at our Baltimore Mixed Martial Arts School. He began training when Crazy 88 was renting out a 600 square foot room at a local fitness gym and has seen the school grow to its current 6000 square foot location. Ben was also there to witness the expansion of the Crazy 88 BJJ schedule from when it consisted only of three Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes a week to the current 7 Days a Week, 18 hours a Day form.

Within the last year, Ben enrolled his daughter into the Childrens Martial Arts program. Despite not even being regular school yet, she can already perform many real self-defense techniques and also has lots of fun socializing with the other students in the class.

Ben is also an avid competitor and has fought in pretty much everything -- BJJ tournaments, No-Gi, and just recently, he won his first Muay Thai smoker bout by 2nd round KO.

Ben trains in:

Nathan is an automobile technician who lives on the Pennsylvania – Maryland border. Despite living more than an hour away, Nathan makes the drive to Crazy 88 many times per week to train due to the quality of the instruction and the great atmosphere. Nathan actually was given a membership to Crazy 88 as a wedding gift and ended up loving the classes so much he continued to train after his initial membership period expired.

Nathan trains like a true Mixed Martial Artist and participates regularly in grappling, mma, and thai boxing classes.
