If you have been to our website before, you have undoubedly seen Mike Atkin on it. Mike is an inspiration to everyone at our Baltimore MMA school because he started his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training in his late-forties and lost close to 80 lbs. He went on to win multiple International competition medals including Double Gold medals at the International Masters and Seniors in Rio de Janeiro (the World Championships for grapplers above 30 years of age). Currently, Mike is one of the instructors at the school where he passes on his knowledge gleaned from years of wrestling and BJJ.
The real story here is Mike’s relationship with his grandson, who recently began training at Crazy 88 and has really fallen in love with training – this works out great for both of them as they now have an activity that they can both do together. Mike and his grandson are just two of the many family members that are all training together at Crazy 88.
